The number of identity fraud victims increased by eight percent in 2017. Imposters and scammers have successfully manipulated and changed tactics to victimize over 1 million more consumers in the US. BBB holds Secure Your ID Day to help prevent records from falling into thieves’ hands.
So here’s the first rule: If you don’t need it, shred it – responsibly.

On Saturday, April 27, 2019, BBBs across North America will host this helpful identity theft prevention event featuring FREE on-site shredding, electronic recycling, plus tips to protect your identity.
Another event will be held in the fall on Saturday, October 19, 2019.
